Dandruff is a common condition that causes the skin on the scalp to flake, which falls like snow while brushing your hair, which is unpleasant. Dandruff is a covering of dead skin that prevents new hair from growing, it may or may not be accompanied by itching.
The greatest number of sebaceous (oil) glands are found on the scalp and the face. Sebum the oily secretion lubricates the hair and scalp in order to keep scalp soft. Excess sebum may collect to form dandruff. It is this oil which binds the cells together on the scalp.
CAUSES
Toxic condition of the system brought on mainly by wrong feeding which leads to nutritional deficiency can cause these abnormal secretions. Other factors contributing are emotional tension, harsh shampoos, oily skin, exposure to cold.
NATURAL TREATMENT
1. Biotin a vitamin B is an major anti dandruff compound, take 6mg daily. A handful of soybeans contains the 6mg of biotin. Second is garlic, follows by oats, sesame, avocado, alfalfa, corn and barley.
2. Fenugreek seed- Soak overnight and ground the seeds into fine paste and apply the paste and leave it for half an hour and rinse it thoroughly.
3. Last rinse with lime juice water
4. Massage with lime and amla juice leave it overnight
5. Rub Aloe Vera gel on the scalp and leave over night
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
1. Keep the hair and scalp clean so as to minimize the accumulation of dead cells.
2. Brush the hair daily to improve circulation and remove any flakiness
3. Massage the scalp thoroughly everyday, using finger tips which will stimulates blood circulation
4. Exposure of the head to sunlight
5. Eat 50 -75 percentage of raw food
6. Avoid shampoo containing selenium sulfide
7. Use shampoo which has Aloe Vera
6. Diet plays a major role- Fruits like apples, pears, grapes, grapefruit, pineapple, and peaches
Grains like millets, brown rice
Avoid starchy, fatty foods, grease. all fried foods, meat, sugar, tea, coffee, pickle, refine and processed foods, soft drinks, candies, chocolate, ice cream and products made with sugar and white flour.
Check for food allergies (wheat, dairy products)
Avoid stress
