Charcoal is
formed when wood is heated in the absence of air. It has the unique ability to
adsorb or remove poisonous gases, drugs, toxic chemicals; infectious bacteria,
and viruses, etc. It doesn’t absorb the
toxins, however. Instead it works through the chemical process of adsorption.
In the body, absorption is
the reaction of elements, including nutrients, chemicals and toxins, soaked up
and assimilated into the blood stream. Adsorption is the chemical reaction where
elements bind to a surface. Charcoal is cleansing and healing for man and nature. Charred
toast or burned rice is not a form of charcoal. It is composed of super-heated
proteins and fats.
In 1897,
health reformer E. White wrote, “ I expect you laugh at this; but if I could
give this remedy some outlandish (very strange or unusual) name that no one
knew but myself, it would have greater influence.’’ After all these years of
knowing and using “this remedy”, I find that this description of charcoal,
better than anything else I could say, sums up the enigma (something that is
difficult to understand or explain) of this lusterless all time gem of
medicine.
Dr. Agatha Thrash also enjoys working with her hands, revels
in the mysteries of science, and has made health a lifetime study. She writes:
“Charcoal has amazing healing properties. In fact, if I were stranded (depart) on
a desert island and could take only one thing along to protect me from disease,
infection, and injury, I would choose charcoal.”
Activated charcoal
adsorbs most organic and inorganic chemicals that do not belong in the body,
but no studies have been able to prove that it adsorb nutrients, as some people are
afraid of. It will adsorb any
medications however, and, other than in the case of an overdose, activated
charcoal needs to be taken two hours before or after any medications.
Charcoal
added to the diet of sheep for six months did not cause a loss of nutrients, as
compared with sheep not receiving charcoal. Blood tests showed no significant
difference between the two groups of animals, and there were no visible signs
of any nutritional deficiency. At autopsy, no differences could be detected. A
level of 5% of the total diet was given as charcoal. It did not affect the
blood or urinary levels of calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, inorganic
phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc, creatinine, uric acid, urea nitrogen, alkaline phosphatase, total protein, or
urine ph.
WHEN CHARCOAL WAS USED AS MEDICINE:
The first recorded use of charcoal for medicinal purposes
comes from Egyptian papyri around 1500 B.C. The principle use appears to have
been to adsorb the unpleasant odors from putrefying wounds and from within the
intestinal tract. Hippocrates, and Pliny (A.D. 50), recorded the use of
charcoal for treating a wide range of complaints including epilepsy, chlorosis
(severe form of iron- deficiency anemia), vertigo, and anthrax.
Pierre Touery, in the year 1831 a French pharmacist,
reportedly drank a glass of deadly strychnine and followed by charcoal drink, survived
to publish his story. There were no uncontrolled convulsions, no ill effects at
all! Why? Because, he had combined fifteen grams of the poison (ten times the
lethal dose), with an equal amount of charcoal.
Today, charcoal is rated Category 1, safe and effective, by
the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for acute toxic poisoning. It is
also listed in the U.S homeopathic pharmacopoeia as having marked absorptive
power of gases. Charcoal is used in medical equipment that filters the blood of
thousands of kidney and liver dialysis patients who might otherwise die.
Charcoal biscuit were
sold in England starting in the early 19th century, originally as remedy to flatulence and stomach trouble.
There is some evidence of its effectiveness to prevent diarrhea in cancer
patients who have received irinotecan (is a drug used for the
treatment of cancer). Activated carbon
is also used for bowel preparation by reducing intestinal gas content before
abdominal radiography to visualize bile and pancreatic and renal stones
Monkey: Red Colobus monkeys in
Africa have been observed eating charcoal for the purposes of self-medication.
Their leafy diets contain high levels of cyanide, which may lead to
indigestion. So they learned to consume charcoal, which absorbs the cyanide and
relieves indigestion. This knowledge about supplementing their diet is
transmitted from mother to infant.
Red colobus
monkey of Tanzania prefers leaves of the exotic Indian almond and mango
trees. These trees yield leaves high in protein as well as secondary compounds
called phenols, which interfere with the monkeys’ digestion. Red Colobus monkeys have learned that ingesting charcoal will
counteract the adverse effects of toxic substances in their diet. Monkeys eat
charcoal to reduce the harmful compounds, which have the potential to be toxic
or interfere with digestion."

The activated charcoal was widely employed for industrial use, to purify
drinking water and industrial waste and to offset toxic gases. It was also used
to clean bottles and winery tanks.
HOW TO MAKE
MEDICINAL CHARCOAL:
Charcoal can
be made easily from any wood such as eucalyptus, willow, pine, oak, and coconut
shell. Cut the wood to a uniform size and remove the bark. Stack the wood
tightly together in a dug ground and start a fire. After the wood begins to
burn, cover it with a piece of tin and pile earth on top of tin, leaving a
small opening for admitting limited amounts of air in order to maintain a slow
burning process over several days. After the burning process is completed,
leave the charcoal inside the covered hole until it cools, as heated charcoal
will burst into flames when exposed to the air. Break into small coarse pieces
and sterilize the charcoal by heating it in a vessel or in oven for half an
hour. Grind the sterilized pieces into fine powder, store in a dry tight
container.

1. Water filtration: Charcoal is
used in water filtration system throughout the world. Activated charcoal
traps impurities in water including solvents, pesticides, industrial waste and
other chemicals

Make Cut Flowers
Last Longer:
Put
a lump of charcoal beneath the cut stems in a vase to help the water stay clean
and clear.
3.
Use it as Mulch:
Break
charcoal into chunks about 1 inch in diameter and spread them on beds or
beneath bushes to keep soil moist and suppress weeds. This is especially useful if you’re starting a garden from scratch and
aren’t sure how the area was treated in the past. Add the charcoal-water
mixture to the soil to absorb any nasty chemicals before getting to work on
your garden.
4.
Help Potted Orchids Grow:
These bloomers benefit from
charcoal's alkalinity. Mix small pieces of charcoal with your potting medium
(e.g., bark or wood chunks) to nourish the flowers.
5.
Keep Rust Off Tools:
Place a few lumps of
charcoal in your tool box to absorb moisture and keep the metal from oxidizing.
6.
Keep Bathrooms, Fridges more
fresh: Charcoal adsorbs moisture and unpleasant odors. Place a dish
with a charcoal briquette in it in your bathroom, fridge, or really anywhere
you want to keep fresh and dry. The best
results will come in places that don’t get much air circulation. Attics (store
house), closets, etc
7. Preserve Linens, Books, and More. Sure,
nothing lasts forever, but you can certainly extend the life of your cherished
possessions. Storing old books, photographs, clothing, linens, quilts, and more
with a piece of charcoal will help do just that. The moisture-zapping charcoal briquettes
will prevent your heirlooms (valuable object) from mold, mildew, musty smells
and more.
8.
Purification and filtration
Charcoal may be activated to increase its effectiveness as a
filter. Activated charcoal readily adsorbs a wide range of
organic compounds dissolved or suspended in gases and liquids. In certain
industrial processes, such as the purification of sucrose from cane sugar,
impurities cause an undesirable color, which can be removed with activated
charcoal. It is also used to absorb odors and toxins in gases,
such as air. Charcoal filters are also used in some types of gas masks. The medical use of
activated charcoal is mainly the adsorption of poisons.
9.
Horticulture
There is a widespread use of biochar (charcoal used as a soil amendment(a
material that aids plant growth
indirectly by improving the condition of the soil) by pre-Columbian (Columbus voyages of 1492) natives to turn
unproductive soil into carbon rich soil. The technique may find modern
application, both to improve soils and as a means of carbon
sequestration (is the process
involved in carbon capture and the long-term storage of
atmospheric carbon dioxide)
10. Make a Terrarium: Putting a little charcoal at the bottom of the pot
will help filter toxins and prevent
root rot.

Face mask: Using
activated charcoal, you can make a face mask that helps pull the toxins and
impurities out of your skin. Open 3 charcoal tablets into a bowl, a little warm
water and a squeeze of honey and stir until it becomes a paste. Then apply it
to your face, making sure to avoid your mouth, eyes, and nose area. Keep for 30
to 40 minutes and wash it off with regular water.

Use as
medicine: It works like a sponge soaking in poisons and germs that cause
sickness. When the germs and the poisons become trapped in the charcoal, they
stop causing sickness, and are carried out of the body.

Over many years attest to the effectiveness of charcoal as an antidote. In one
experiment, 100 times the lethal dose of Cobra venom was mixed with charcoal
and injected into a laboratory animal. The animal was not harmed.

Do not mix charcoal with milk, ice

charcoal.
Direct intake of charcoal powder
without mixing with water is dangerous. Chance of causing pulmonary aspiration (is the entry of material from the oropharynx or gastrointestinal into the larynx (voice box).
Activated charcoal works by trapping toxins and chemicals in its millions of
tiny pores. Typically, however, it’s not used when petroleum, alcohol, lye,
acids or other corrosive poisons are ingested.
It’s important to note that activated
charcoal is not
the charcoal used in your
barbecue grill. Barbecue charcoal is
loaded with toxins and chemicals, and should never be consumed.

Charcoal!!!
I suffer from IBS, and am very sensitive to food
- so much so I hate eating. Charcoal has really helped me. I used to get
stomach aches, bloating and gas after every meal - it felt like food poisoning
3 times a day. I changed my medication, changed my diet, and changed my
lifestyle...nothing helped until I took charcoal after meals.
I have terrible digestion problem and
while taking this, my digestive problems seem to vanish. I also have mild acne
and facial redness that clears up with this product as well; I wasn't even
expecting this but it confirms my thought that a bad digestive system does

Husband has an issue with 'gas' at
night. So gross...I can't stand it. These charcoal pills seem to do the trick

. I had bowel cancer 6 years ago and had
my caecum and ascending colon removed, thus rendering me with permanent diarrhea.

My story starts in Aug
2008 after I returned from a holiday in Egypt, with severe pains in my abdomen
with bloating, sickness and acid reflux. My doctor referred me to the
hospital where I had all kinds of tests performed, MRI, camera's etc. I
was finally discharged from hospital with the famous saying "We are sorry
we cannot do anything for you”. This carried on for two years, I was in
constant pain and my trouser size went up from 36" to 42", I was in
constant pain. My doctor is a very nice man; I asked him one day about
trying charcoal tablets, he happily wrote me a prescription. After taking
your product within three days all my problems disappeared!!!
Everyone should have
this in their home. I live in Japan and after Fukushima exploded my family started
having fever, chills, and upset stomach, and under my fingernails turned black!
I then remembered as a child my mother was in the hospital and the staff
accidentally gave her a medication she was highly allergic took and she had a
severe, life threatening reaction and they made her drink pure powered charcoal
mixed with water to get out the poison. When I remembered this I gave my family

There are so many uses for activated Charcoal. I
recommend that every household keep this product in stock. It is great for
those suffering from diarrhea or bloating. We have also used it when we got
food poisoning. It should be kept in household where small children are present
in case of accidental poisonings. Then, I keep it in case of scorpion or
bee/wasp stings, or spider bites. I was bit by a brown recluse several years
ago, and I opened a capsule and made a paste with a few drops of water. I
applied it to the bite and 24 hours later, it had absorbed all the poison. The
bite was completely healed within a week
I took this supplement because I am pregnant, and I read
that it helps with morning sickness. It actually works! I don't take it daily,
only when I feel nauseated. Activated charcoal adsorbs a wide range of toxins
in the body. Morning sickness may be caused by low level toxins; therefore
activated charcoal can help a great deal.
We have seen pain in severe, throbbing and feverish cellulitis subside
in a matter of five minutes after the application of a charcoal poultice. The
reaction is unbelievable unless actually observed.
I can name 3 things
this has done for me right off the bat-- 1. When I wake up with heartburn I take
two of these (charcoal) and I am able to go back to sleep immediately. 2. When
making cookies with my children I allowed myself one more cookie and really
upset my stomach with all of the over-indulgence of sweetness-- I popped two of
these capsules with a glass of water and within a few minutes my stomach ache
was gone. 3. I felt a sore throat and ear ache coming on and I took 2 of these
in the morning... then two in the afternoon...and by the next day I felt no
symptoms of infections setting in.
There
was one period of time where I was literally losing tufts of hair every day. It
was serious. No amounts of clarifying shampoos or hair masks helped; topical
hair loss solutions only gave very mild results. I decided to apply activated
charcoal paste (just activated charcoal powder/tablets mixed with water) all
over my scalp, left it overnight and washed it off in the morning. After about
2-3 applications, my crazy hair loss stopped! I still lose hair every day when
I wash my hair now but it's just a couple of strands, which is normal. Whenever
my scalp gets oily and congested and more hair starts dropping, I'll just apply
activated charcoal paste on my scalp overnight and it'll be all fresh and clean
again the next morning. It stops hair loss and takes away scalp odors too.
Messy but it works!
I thought I would share with you
something that has helped me greatly over the years whenever my stomach starts
that unusual gurgling sound that precedes nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills,
and fever. Several of these symptoms have hit me over the past few years
(the most recent last week), and the very first thing I do is get out my jar of
activated charcoal powder.
A lady got a bee
sting right away, the lady was pale, sweaty, and weak, had a headache and
nausea, and severe pain in her hand. She was beginning to wheeze.
We first rubbed the
sting with a charcoal tablet wet with water as the very quickest way to apply
charcoal, and immediately mixed some activated charcoal and water, and more
completely covered the sting. Within two or three minutes of the charcoal
application, she began to relax and feel better. A larger poultice was prepared
to replace the emergency one, and it was changed at ten minute intervals for an
hour. We gave her a tablespoon of charcoal by mouth in a glass of water. Then
an interesting thing happened.
The patient felt
perfectly well and took the poultice off believing herself to be entirely
finished with the reaction. Within ten minutes, she was weak, sweaty, faint,
and beginning to wheeze. The poultice was immediately re-applied, again with
clearing of symptoms. After wearing the poultice all night, she was well.
Although this lady usually experienced massive swelling after bee stings, she
had no trace of swelling.”

I treated a boy who was burnt with hot water and was taken to a clinic. He
failed to get cured. By the time we approached them [the family] the boy was
remained with few days to die, because all the body was producing puss and was
smelling, and when you touch on him you come with the skin in your fingertips.
I even feared to treat him with charcoal because I was thinking in my heart
that I may spread him with charcoal and [if he] fail to get cured and afterward
he will die, I feared people to say that charcoal has killed that boy. Then I

mixed with cassava flour and Aloe Vera, then after placed it on the parts of
the body which are affected. We didn't remove it for one week. After [another]
one and half week the boy was found cured.

woman got sago thorn on her thigh. Even after we removed the dead skin over the
wound, there still was no sign of the thorn. It was very deeply imbedded, and
was infecting the surrounding area of her leg. Every day she would come to our
house in the morning and evening. We did hot and cold treatments, and then we
wrapped her thigh in a charcoal pack. After about one week the charcoal drew
out the thorn – all two inches of it. From that day on we were promoted as
people with powerful medicine.”
Dr.
Dana, NMD writes: “Between my first and second year of medical school, the
grandfather of one of my classmates had been told by his doctor that his foot
was so badly infected it needed to be amputated. He had already lost a toe, and
did not want to go that route. I had the night care of this man and overnight I
placed a charcoal poultice over
the foot. We continued this practice for a month. We were rewarded for our
efforts by seeing the foot turn from black back to a healthy pink. After the
month, he was once more up and about. We also gave him some simple hydrotherapy
treatments, and instructed him on how to improve his dietary habits.”
Even my 15 years old son
loves charcoal. I bought a charcoal soap (Origins) and he swiped it from me and
asked me to buy more. Charcoal is also great for getting rid of body odor. So,
if you work out, this is awesome. The capsules are so easy to use, you can open
some up into your body cleanser. Or if you use bar soap, you can open one in
your hand and mix some soap with it, then spread all over your body
For several years I
worked in a hospital emergency room and one curious thing that I observed was
something that few people are aware of. Whenever an overdose patient was
brought into the emergency room the very first thing a doctor would do is make
the patient drink activated charcoal powder mixed with water. During those
years of seeing many overdose patients come into the ER, I never saw an
overdose patient die who was conscious and who was able to drink the charcoal
slurry.
For my diarrhea I took one tablespoon of charcoal in a
glass of water, followed by a full glass of water every time he had a loose
stool. Within two days he was entirely well… and sold on charcoal. Now he never
travels without charcoal, and always takes a tablespoon with the first hint of
a symptom.”
Through phone a parent said that
their a-half-year old son had been bitten on the chest by a copperhead
moccasin. This snake may cause death in a small child. The fang marks were
surrounded by some swelling, and the child was in great pain.
We instructed the couple to get to
the emergency room as quickly as possible. We also told them to apply charcoal
poultices one after the other, every ten minutes until they got there. We were
greatly relieved when they called several hours later to report that the child
was doing quite well.
In fact, by the time they had gotten
to the hospital, the child was asleep, the swelling had gone down and the pain
had obviously stopped. The physician administered the antivenin to be on the
safe side.
My blood pressure soared up to 210/130. I was sick and thought I was
going to die! I took charcoal right away and 15 minutes later again. That
brought it down to 160/100. That is 50 points. And to ease my head, I soaked my
feet in hot water with 2 tablespoons powdered mustard for twenty minutes. By
that time it had come down to 140/85 -- 70 points! I felt so much better
and again grateful for charcoal. I’m
going to take a soak. (We have one of those bigger tubs.) add a cup of
charcoal.” So I did and soaked for an hour. Took a shower to wash off the
charcoal. But wow, I felt five times cleaner than usual. I went to bed and went
to sleep right away.
Around midnight I woke up and felt so weak, I
told my husband to take my blood pressure and it was down to 120/80. Wow! I
hadn’t had that low a blood pressure in years. It took three days for me to get
that blood pressure back up again. Next time I would cut the amount of charcoal
in half (1/2 cup) and only stay in half an hour.
“I recently had lower
back surgery for a herniated disk. The procedure went perfectly, but during
recovery I began to have severe headaches. Sensitivity to light, movement, and
sound made the headaches unbearable without medication. My surgeon wrote a prescription
for my pain, but as soon as the medication wore off the headaches would return.
Four days after returning home from the hospital my fiancée heard about a
natural remedy - charcoal! We were a bit skeptical but I was willing to try
anything. I took one tablespoon of charcoal with a glass of water, and in less
than an hour later the headaches were completely gone! It has been nearly four
weeks since my surgery and I have not suffered another headache. Charcoal is
now at the front of my medicine cabinet and has been recommended to all friends

CHARCOAL AS MY FRIEND:
It was mid night my 4 years old was vomiting.
Charcoal powder stir in water was given orally every few minutes for 1 hour.
Vomiting was gone. At first he hesitated to drink the black colored liquid,
convincing him that God has given this for sick people, with full faith he
drank it.
Another time while he was playing with
a piece of bamboo inside living room, suddenly he was screaming with severe
pain. There was a bee along with the bamboo, which has bitten his big toe.
Without delay charcoal was applied, just after 10 sec he stopped crying. That
was a great up lifting experience, still rings in our hearts.
At the age of 10, he had a sever
inflammation of the eyes with blisters inside the conjunctiva. Natural
treatments were given for 2 days which showed no improvement. Because of flood,
there was no vehicle service to take him to hospital either. Pray fully
different natural treatment was followed that was lemon juice as eyes drops,
for external application charcoal poultice was applied and internally charcoal
water was given. These last treatments gave us a great assurance that he was cured
amazingly; wonderfully the natural treatment took its own course with full
recovery. Now, he is 17 years old by God’s care the problem never came back.
Once in the middle of our train journey
Guwahati to Andhra Pradesh, it so happened that my son had stomach problem with
loose motion. Hopefully, I was waiting for a guava sales man to pass through
our compartment to get the leaves. At last leaves were available from the sales
man, and gave my son to ingest the leaves. It checked the problem but after
reaching our destination the problem started again. The house which was for our
lodging had a beautiful guava tree, which made us to complete his treatment.
Why this incident was brought out, is to make sure that we carry charcoal (tablet/
powder) whenever we travel. Now, though there wouldn’t be any money in my purse
but you’ll always find charcoal. Mothers can imagine what went in my mind
during the train journey. So, let’s make sure that you will be well equipped.
Seldom, suppers foods are ignoring
whatever curry are left during lunch that will be for night. Knowing that, my big
son bought some potato fry from a hotel. At the end of our supper I tested
their fry and I yelled; don’t eat the potato fry it’s spoiled. Knowing the ill effect,
I warn them to eat charcoal tablet after their meals. Small boy (8years old) he
got frighten and immediately took the charcoal just after the food. The trouble
gripes at midnight (big son 15 years old) waking me up complaining mummy I am
feeling cold, shivering and stomach pain. Asked him did you take charcoal
tablet, he said no. Immediately 2 charcoal tablets was given and made hot water
bag for his ice cool leg. Later, after 5 minutes he had sound sleep. Thirty
minutes later he got up for more water and he said he is feeling much better
and another two charcoals was given. Its 4.24 a.m. let me have some nap and woo
its raining and Sunday! I am going to have a good Sunday, rain sleep. Will see
what happens morning and I’ll let you know. Got up by 6.30 a.m. without any stomach
problem but severe headache. For his headache we did hydrotherapy (water
treatment) hot foot bath that checked his problem.
A man had big pus filled sty and
swollen eyes. He could hardly open his eyes and then charcoal poultice were
applied whole night on both the eyes. How wonderfully healing came with all the
pus drained out and with much satisfaction within one night application.
A teenage girl went to a doctor with an
apple size abscess on her left forehand. She was informed to have a small
surgery in order to drain the pus and was told to be prepared by tomorrow. That
night her father approached with a deep concern about her daughter’s problem.
Right click at right time as to say without any hesitation, uncle let us put
charcoal poultice on the abscess it will work miraculously. With great
confident replied was given as though I had done it before, where else charcoal
was a new friend. I really believe it was an inspiration from God. That night
she slept with the charcoal poultice on her affected area. It doesn’t take
whole night to reveal Gods miracle. She said it’s wonderful I don’t know how
charcoal made my skin hole and the pus is drained out. Just in overnight my
forehand is normal as though nothing had happened before. How wonderfully all
the pus came out from a riffle size hole despite of cutting 3 inch long skin
with stitches, pain, antibiotics, dressing everyday[EA1] with medications.
In Manipur during summer we have a kind
of caterpillar (tillaikumbi) whoever comes in contact with skin gets swollen
with severer itching. We feel like scratching crazily till it bleeds and there
is a solution to get rid out of the itch that is charcoal water to be applied
on the itching location, no need of using spirit or Dettol which burns during
application. This is our daily routine in the school during summer. For severe
cases charcoal tablets were given internally.
In daddy’s
school there are many children with toothache problems, stomached, diarrhea, and
vomiting especially from lower classes. No matter, if the problem arises during
the class hour, it’s just the matter of 5 to 10 minutes. For toothache made
them to brush with charcoal powder, within 9 or 10 strokes their ache gets
disappeared. You’ll hardly believe what this charcoal can do with severe
toothache. Respectively with stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting or nausea,
charcoal water given internally will over rule the pain and suffering. That is
how the school student never misses their classes despite their sudden health
problem.
Boils are also
very common in our hostel and had a very simple, easy treatment by charcoal
poultice. It never disappoint anyone using that, it ease the pain, swelling,
redness and pulls the pus over the surface. And even after removing the pus, we
use charcoal poultice for dressing the wound.
One of our
staff approached with severe gum pain, hardly can she open her mouth to speak
or eat. In this case also charcoal tablet was kept on the affected area for
hours and continue it till be cured. That bought her back to normal, through
this simple natural healing within few hours. It’s amazing and fantastic how
this black color particle works upon many sicknesses?
It so
happened that my eye had conjunctivitis (red eye), without delay, charcoal
poultice ways done on my affected eye kept for hours, 30 minutes before that
one drop honey was applied inside the eye. Instantly, for the unaffected eye
too. This process was repeatedly done for 3 times a day. God wonderfully
fulfilled His promise saying, whoever use my method of treatment (Natural
remedy) He will bless our effort.
Got a phone call from a friend stating that they had mushroom curry in breakfast. Latter on they started vomiting, with stomach pain, headache and feels weak. Charcoal water was advised to take at frequent interval and that worked out well without any further complication.
METHODS TO
USE:
a. INTERNALLY OR ORALLY: Charcoal has no toxic effects. We can use as
much as needed and as often as it is needed. Carefully stir 1 to 2 tablespoons
of charcoal powder into a small amount of water; fill the glass with additional
water. The best time to take is between meals. If food is the cause of the
ailment, take charcoal whenever it is needed. If charcoal tablet is your
choice, you can take 2 to 3 tabs either chew or swallow with water in empty
stomach.
b. EXTERNALLY OR POULTICE: Directions
for preparing a charcoal poultice are as follows:
1. Mix the charcoal powder into a little
water until the mixture has the consistency of a paste.
2. Sources like Cornstarch, Atta, slippery elms, psyllium husk and
ground flaxseed, one of them may be added to the charcoal mixture to keep the
poultice from becoming too dry. Mix 1 to 3 tablespoonful of charcoal powder
with 1 table spoonful of the any above source by adding little warm water to
make a paste. Flax seed has some anti-inflammatory property which makes a right
choice with any inflammatory problem.
3. Spread the charcoal paste on one half
of a thin cloth or paper towel. Fold the other half of the cloth or paper towel
over the charcoal paste.
4. Place the poultice on top of the
affected skin. Cover the entire poultice with a piece of plastic to keep it
from drying out.
5. Leave the charcoal poultice on the
affected area according to their problem.
6. Internal application for ear problem,
(avoid if there is rupture or puncture eardrum, instead you can use charcoal
poultice), mix some charcoal powder with fresh olive oil or boiled water, stir
it well, strain with a strainer so that no sediment would be there and put 2
drops in the ear.
7. Internal application for eye problem,
make a mixture of charcoal with boiled water stir them well and pass it through
a strainer so that no sediment would be there, make the liquid to stand for some hours. Use the upper portion as an
eye dropper. For more covenant we can use charcoal poultice.
8. External application can be used in
such conditions like bee or ant stings, snake bites, boils, any inflammatory
condition, stye, eyes problems, joint pain, abdomen pain, gum pain, ear pain,
sprain, in growth toes nail, warts, cancer or any growth, etc.
c. CHARCOAL BATH: The charcoal bath is used to treat large areas of the body. It is simple to prepare, just add 2 cups of charcoal powder to a tub of water and deep or immerse the affected area.
COMMON USES OF CHARCOAL
1. Food, chemical, plants, toxic
poisoning and Drug Over dose:
Food
poisoning, also called food borne illness, is illness caused by eating
contaminated food, bacteria or other toxins in
food, Food
poisoning symptoms, which can start within hours of eating contaminated food or
even weeks later. Sickness caused by food poisoning generally lasts from a few
hours to several days.
Exposure to chemicals, plants, and other toxic substances
that can cause harm are called poisonings. The higher the dose or the longer
the exposure, the worse the poisoning.
Food poisoning symptoms vary with the source of
contamination. Most types of food poisoning cause one or more of the following
signs and symptoms:

Nausea

Vomiting
·
Watery diarrhea
·
Abdominal pain and cramps
·
Fever
·
Signs or symptoms of dehydration —
excessive thirst, dry mouth, little or no urination, severe weakness,
dizziness, or lightheadedness.
- Neurological symptoms such as blurry vision, muscle
weakness and tingling in the arms
Overdoses of drugs or chemicals can be
either accidental or intentional. Drug overdoses occur when a person takes more
than the medically recommended dose. Drugs have effects on the entire body.

Problems
with vital signs (temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure)
are possible and can be life threatening. Vital sign values can be increased,
decreased, or completely absent.
·
Sleepiness,
confusion
·
Skin
can be cool and sweaty, or hot and dry.
·
Shortness
of breath may occur. Breathing may get rapid, slow, deep, or shallow.
·
Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting,
and diarrhea are possible.
Vomiting blood, or blood in bowel movements, can be life threatening.
·
Specific
drugs can damage specific organs, depending on the drug.
Above these mention problem charcoal
will be the best medication because they can absorb any toxic or poison from
the body.
For example Mushroom
poisoning can be effectively treated with charcoal. In any type of poisoning
charcoal will be our ultimate choice. We can give internally with externally
charcoal poultice. In serious and unconscious patients activated charcoal can
be given by gastric tube, or insertion of charcoal tablet inside anus. If
possible hydrotherapy around the abdomen will also help a lot.
2. Diarrhea :
Diarrhea is
said to have more frequent, loose, watery stool. You may get diarrhea after being in contact
with someone else who has it, or you may get it from food poisoning - after eating
contaminated food or drinking contaminated water.
Symptoms of
diarrhea:

Increased
frequency of bowel movements

Loose,
watery stools

Urgency
(having to go right away)
·
Incontinence (leakage of stools)

Bloating,

Lower abdominal pain or cramping

Charcoal is one of the most effective
treatments for diarrhea
· Treat severe diarrhea in an adult by
adding 2 table spoonful of powdered charcoal to a glass of water and followed
by one glass of clear water for each charcoal drink. Repeat this 4 times per day.
Drink 1 more glass of charcoal water followed by one glass of clear water for
each additional, watery stool.(use one half of the adult dose of charcoal for a
child)
· Watch for signs of dehydration:
thirst, dry mouth, scant and dark yellow urine, loss of skin elasticity, and a
sunken eye.
· If dehydration occurs, a simple
rehydration drink can be made by adding ½ teaspoonful of salt and 1 teaspoonful
of sugar to 1 glass of rice water or vegetable soup. Give fluids in small sips
every 5 minutes- even if vomiting occurs until there is a normal output of
urine.
Nervous diarrhea with
irritable or spastic colon is greatly helped by taking charcoal.
3. Nausea and vomiting:
Vomiting is the act of forcefully
expelling the stomach's contents out through the mouth. Nausea and vomiting aren't normally medical conditions
themselves, but are commonly symptoms of a disorder or illness. Nausea refers
to the unpleasant "queasy" feeling that you get when you're about to
vomit,
Nausea
and vomiting may occur separately or together. Common causes include:

Charcoal is very effective for nausea
and vomiting.
Give the full adult dose
1 to 2 tablespoonful in ½ glass of water each time vomiting occurs (2-3
charcoal tabs). (For a child use ½ adult doses.) If the charcoal is vomited,
give another dose immediately. Always follow the dose of charcoal with a full
glass of water or sip by sip.
4. Intestinal gas or bloating,
indigestion:
Bloating
means
gas buildup in your stomach and intestines.
Which is a feeling of fullness in the abdomen, can make you
uncomfortable. Although many people think that they pass gas too often or have
too much gas, it is rare to have too much gas. Changing what you eat and drink
can sometimes cut down on gas and relieve discomfort caused by gas. Bloating or
passing gas are natural and are usually caused by swallowed air or the breakdown
of food through digestion (Gas is made in the stomach and
intestines as your body breaks down food into energy). You may experience gas and gas pains only
occasionally or repeatedly in a single day.
When gas and gas pains interfere with your daily activities,
there may be something wrong. When gas doesn't pass through belching or
flatulence, it can build up in the stomach and intestines and lead to bloating.
With bloating, you may also have abdominal pain that can vary from mild and
dull to sharp and intense. Passing gas or having a bowel movement may relieve
the pain.
Bloating may be related to:

Eating fatty foods, which can delay
stomach emptying and make you feel uncomfortably full

Drinking carbonated beverages or
eating gassy foods

Eating too quickly, drinking through
a straw, chewing gum or sucking on candies, resulting in swallowing air

Charcoal
relieves intestinal gas or bloating. Take 1 to 2 teaspoonful of charcoal in ½
glass of water as needed to control symptoms (or 2-3 charcoal tabs). For
indigestion, use charcoal powdered or tab stirred into a little olive for
cleansing and healing. For peptic ulcers, or other forms of gastrointestinal
distress. Stir 1 tablespoon of charcoal (2-3 charcoal tab) into a large glass
of water and allow the black part to settle to the bottom. The clear water on
top may be drunk, brings you with good results.
5. Eyes and ears infection:
An ear infection occurs when a bacterial or viral infection
affects the middle ear—the sections of your ear just behind the eardrum. Ear
infections can be painful because of inflammation and fluid buildup in the
middle ear.
Ear infections can be chronic or acute. Acute ear infections
are painful but short in duration. Chronic ear infections do not clear
up, or they recur many times. Chronic ear infections can cause permanent damage
to the middle and inner ear. Ear infections occur when one of
your Eustachian tubes becomes swollen or blocked and fluid builds up in your middle
ear. Eustachian tubes are small tubes that run from each ear directly to the
back of the throat.
Ear infections occur most commonly in young children because they have short
and narrow Eustachian tubes. Infants who are bottle-fed also have a higher
incidence of ear infections than their breastfed counterparts. The causes of Eustachian tube blockage include:

Other minor causes are

can treat with charcoal poultice and warm water bag above the poultice on the
affected area. Hydrotherapy for lower extremities should be done also.
EYES INFECTIONS:
Many of the viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi that can
invade the human body are also capable of attacking the surface or interior of
the eye. Infectious eye diseases can be as
Conjunctivitis,
for example, is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, the membrane of
the inner eyelid and the inner corner of the eye's surface. Other possible
locations of inflammation include the eyelid (blepharitis), the cornea (keratitis),
the liquid inside the eye (vitritis), the retina and the blood vessels
that feed it (chorioretinitis), or the optic nerve (neuroretinitis).
These are just a few examples - the eye is a complex organ of many parts. Most
of the eyes problems are derived due to lack of vitamin A.
Common
symptoms of conjunctivitis include:

the white of the eye
- discharge of yellow pus that
may be crusty on waking up - a possible sign of bacterial infection
- tears
- swollen eyelids
- constant involuntary blinking
(blepharospasm)
Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
Conjunctivitis, or "pink eye," is an infection or swelling in the eye area that causes inflammation of the conjunctiva, giving the eye a red or pink color.
Cataract
Cataracts are dense,
cloudy areas that slowly form in the lens of the eye. They are common in older
people, but can also be present at birth or caused by medications, disease,
trauma, or radiation.
Eyelid inflammation (blepharitis)
Blepharitis is
inflammation of the eyelash follicles. Its cause is unclear, but allergies,
mites, dandruff, and certain medications may increase the likelihood of this
form of inflammation.
Dry eyes
When the eyes do not
produce enough tears, this results in dry eyes. It can be caused by environmental
factors, dry eye syndrome, medications, and other causes as well
External eyelid stye (hordeolumexternum)
A red, painful bump
or inflamed area on the eyelid is called a stye or hordeolum. It's typically
caused by bacterial infection of the sebaceous glands at the base of the
eyelashes.
Watery eyes
If the eyes produce
too many tears, the tear ducts become overwhelmed and the eyes become watery.
Watery eyes can be caused by strong emotions or laughter, weather, or a range
of different conditions.
Eye burning accompanied by itching and discharge
Eye burning
accompanied by discharge and/or itching is usually a sign of infection. It can
also be a sign of a foreign body in the eye or an injury to the eye.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma refers to a
number of diseases that damage the optic nerve and can lead to vision loss. It
is usually caused by abnormally high pressure inside the eye.
Black eye
A black eye is when
the capillaries beneath the skin around the eyes have broken; blood enters the
surrounding tissue and discolors it, giving the appearance of bruising.
Bleeding under conjunctiva (subconjunctival hemorrhage)
If blood has collected
under the conjunctiva, the transparent tissue that covers the white of the eye,
this is called a subconjunctival hemorrhage. This is not a dangerous condition,
and tends to go away by itself within a few weeks.
Hazy vision
Hazy vision is a
problem that makes it difficult to see clearly. It can be caused by a number of
different factors.
Infections of
eyes and ears can be treated with a charcoal poultice. Put the poultice over
the infected eye or ear, and leave it in place for at least 4 hours during the
pain attack or overnight if necessary. Before applying eye poultice wash your
eyes with salted luke warm water of those who has eye itching. Eye problems due
to some sickness like diabetes; hypertension should be treated first for better
results. To keep in mind eyes problem usually occur due to the lack of vitamin
A. Beside charcoal treatment, we need to take diets that are rich in vitamin A
or its supplement vitamin. Instead of
putting any pharmacy eye drops you can use honey or lemon or carrot juice as
your eye drops.
The eyes are really another lobe of
the brain. A treatment to the eyes can result also in a treatment to the brain,
and it is well to remember that such afflictions of the brain as meningitis and
encephalitis may respond somewhat to charcoal poultice and other treatments of
eyes.
Cellulitis of the face,
eyelids and ears can be effectively treated with a poultice of charcoal.
6. Skin and joint infections:
Infection
in the fluid and tissues of a joint usually are by bacteria’s but also by
viruses or fungi, may spread through the bloodstream or from a nearby
infection into a joint, causing infection. The joints most commonly infected
are the knee, shoulder, wrist, hip, elbow, and the joints of the fingers.
Symptoms of infectious arthritis include:

Joint
pain and stiffness, typically in the knee, shoulder, ankle, finger, wrist or hip
·
Warmth
and redness around the joint
·
Fever
and shaking chills
·
Inability to move the limb with the
infected joint.
Charcoal with flax seed poultice
should be done on affected part. Create a wrap out of fabric
that’s big enough to go around the affected area twice. Dab the mixture of
coconut oil and activated charcoal on the fabric, and wrap. Secure with
bandages. Before that we need to do
hydrotherapy (hot water with salt or Epsom) on the area for 20 minutes. Avoid
non-veg with lots of fresh raw vegetable intakes and fruit for better results.

Skin Infections
Skin infections caused by bacteria include:

Boils. The most common type of staph infection is the boil, a
pocket of pus that develops in a hair follicle or oil gland. The skin over the
infected area usually becomes red and swollen.
If a boil
breaks open, it will probably drain pus. Boils occur most often under the arms
or around the groin or buttock.
·
Cellulitis. It’s an infection of the deeper layers of skin — causes
skin redness and swelling on the surface of your skin. Sores (ulcers) or areas
of oozing discharge may develop, too. Cellulitis occurs most often in the lower
legs and feet.
·
Carbuncles
A carbuncle is a red,
swollen, and painful cluster of boils that are connected to each other under
the skin.
Fungal
Skin Infections
Fungal infections of
the skin are very common and include athlete's foot, ringworm, and yeast
infections.
Athlete's Foot (tineapedis)
Athlete's
foot is a
common skin infection caused by a fungus causing foot itching,
burning, pain, and scaling of skin. You don't have to be an athlete to get it.
This annoying ailment occurs in boys, girls, men, and women of all ages.
FOUL ODOUR OF FOOT: Soak
the foot inside charcoal water for half an hour. Use only washed or dried shoes
or slippers and socks only after immersion, if you happen to use.
INGROWTH OF TOES
NAIL: In this condition charcoal poultice is the best treatment.

Measles is caused by the measles
virus, measles symptoms include four-day fevers (the 4 D's) and
the three C's—cough, coryza,
and conjunctivitis (red eyes)—along with fever and rashes. The
rash starts on the face and spreads to the other parts of the body.
Infections
of skin can be treated with a charcoal poultice mixed with coconut oil or olive
oil, charcoal submersion and internal ingestion. Leave the poultice on for
several hours or overnight. For any skin infection, we need to wash the area
with warm boiled neem leaves water.
7. Bee stings, ant and spider bites:
For single bee stings or
ant or insects bites, charcoal paste (# mixed charcoal with coconut or olive
oil or water) directly over the affected area. For severe allergic reactions to
bee sting, change the poultice every 20 minutes for one hour. Then leave charcoal
poultice # in the sting place for 8 hours or reapply every 30 minutes until itching and discomfort are
gone and with ingestion
of charcoal tablet.
Directions for treating
multiple bee stings and venomous spider, scorpion, or poisonous insect bites
are as follows:
· Immediately wash the area of the bite
or sting thoroughly with soap and water.
· Submerge the bitten area in cool
charcoal water for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Prepare the cool charcoal bath with ½
cup of charcoal in 8 liters of water.
· After soaking in cool charcoal water
and apply a charcoal poultice.
8. Snake bites:
Even
a bite from a harmless snake can be serious, leading to an allergic reaction or
an infection. Venomous snake bites can produce an array of symptoms, including
localized pain and swelling, convulsions, and nausea—even paralysis.
To identify a poisonous snake bite,
consider the following general symptoms:
· two puncture wounds
· swelling and redness around the
wounds
· pain at the bite site
· difficulty breathing
· vomiting and nausea
· blurred vision
· sweating and salivating
· numbness in the face and limbs
If pain and
swelling occur within 10 minutes of a poisonous snake bite, venom has entered
the body.
· Immediately wash the bite area
thoroughly with soap and water, remaining calm, and immobilizing the
affected area. Submerge
the bitten area in cool charcoal water for 30 minutes to one hour (1/2cup
of charcoal to 8 liters)
· Apply a very large charcoal poultice
covering almost the entire extremity that has been bitten. You want to cover a larger area than just a small bandage, center the poultice directly over
the bite. Keep the poultice moist by covering
it with plastic. Create a wrap out of fabric
that’s big enough to go around the affected area twice. Remove the old poultice and place a
new poultice over the snake bite every 10 to 15 minutes until swelling and pain
are gone.
· Take charcoal powder or tablet by
mouth as well. Take about 2 tablespoonful in ½ glass of water every 2 hours for
3 doses, then 1 small spoonful every 4 hours for the next 24 hours. Each charcoal
dose should be followed by 1 glass of water.
9. Jaundice in the newborn:
Yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes is a sign
of infant jaundice that usually appears between the second and fourth day after
birth.
To check for infant jaundice, press gently on your baby's
forehead or nose. If the skin looks yellow where you pressed, it's likely your
baby has mild jaundice.
If the newborn baby is
very yellow, give a 1/2 teaspoonful of charcoal stirred in enough water to pass
through a nipple every 2 to 3 hours. Place the baby undressed in the sunlight
before 10 a.m. or after 3 p.m. (avoid hot, midday sun to prevent burning the
skin). Cover the baby’s eyes to protect them from the sun’s rays. Continue
treating the infant until the jaundice decreases or disappears. Even the mother
should take charcoal internally.
Jaundice in adult: Here
in this case charcoal poultice should be done around the liver region keeping
for 8 to 10 hrs a day and make new poultice for the night and remove it in the
morning. For quick recovery, have a short hydrotherapy around the liver region
before each charcoal poultice. Apart from the treatment, diets also play a
major role that we have to keep in mind.

Liver
and kidney disease:
Signs and symptoms of liver disease include:

Skin and eyes that appear yellowish
(jaundice)

Swelling in the legs and ankles.

Kidneys make urine, so when the kidneys
are failing, the urine may change. How?

Failing kidneys don't remove extra
fluid, which builds up in your body causing swelling in the legs, ankles, feet,

Charcoal can be benefit
people with diseases of the liver and kidneys including kidney failure. Give
charcoal internally to help prevent toxins from accumulating in the body. Apply
a large charcoal poultice to the mid back for kidney disorders and to the
abdomen for liver disorders. Before charcoal poultice hydrotherapy should be
done on kidney or liver region respectively.
11.
Toothaches
and gum infections:
Toothache or tooth pain is caused when the nerve to a tooth
is irritated. Dental infection, gum disease, plaque, dental decay, or losses of
a tooth (including tooth extractions) are the most common causes of dental
pain. Toothaches occur from
inflammation of the central portion of the tooth called pulp. The pulp contains
nerve endings that are very sensitive to pain.
The main symptom is a severe toothache. The pain continuous
and may be described as gnawing, sharp, shooting, or throbbing.

bacteria cause inflammation of the gums that is called “gingivitis.” In

floss (cleaning teeth with thread) your teeth

For gum infections, Brush
the charcoal powder or tablet between the infected gum and the teeth, and keep the
charcoal on the gum all night and rinse it in the morning. For toothache, brush
your teeth with charcoal tab or powder and also for sever condition spread the
charcoal paste on a piece of gauze and bite in between the teeth. Before the
above treatment, take out food particles from the decay tooth or gum with
toothpick and brush.
12.
Bad
Breath:
Bad breath, also known as halitosis, is breath that has
an unpleasant odor. This odor can strike periodically or be persistent,
depending on the cause. In many people, the millions of bacteria that live in
the mouth (particularly on the back of the tongue) are the primary causes of bad
breath. The mouth's warm, moist conditions make an ideal environment for these
bacteria to grow.
Some
types of bad breath, such as "morning mouth," are considered to be
fairly normal, and they usually are not health concerns. The "morning
mouth" type of bad breath occurs because the saliva that regularly washes
away decaying food and odors during the daytime diminishes at night while you
sleep. Your mouth becomes dry, and dead cells adhere to your tongue and inside
of your cheeks. Bacteria use these cells for food and expel compounds that have
a foul odor.
In
addition, bad breath can be caused by the following:

Poor dental hygiene — Infrequent
or improper brushing and flossing can leave food
particles to decay inside the mouth.

Infections in the mouth —
Periodontal (gum) disease

Respiratory tract infections — Throat
infections, sinus infections, lung infections

Tooth decay: this is also a condition where halitosis occurs.
Charcoal can
be used for bad breath, cleansing both the mouth and gastrointestinal tract.
Even odor producing substances that are secreted into the gastrointestinal
tract high up will be adsorbed and their excretions through the lungs are
prevented. Odors produced in the mouth can be counteracted by proper cleansing
of the teeth, tongue and gums by a soft bristle (fiber) brush, and then holding
a charcoal tablet in the mouth for 20 to 30 minutes.

A human with an infection has another organism inside them which
gets its sustenance (nourishment) from that person; it colonizes that person
and reproduces inside them. The human with that organism (germ) inside is
called the host, while the
germ is pathogen that causes sickness.

Respiratory infections of the upper airways, nose and throat
are the most common forms of viral infections. Viruses are tiny organisms, much
smaller than bacteria or fungi. The virus invades its host and attaches to a
cell, entering it and releasing genetic material (DNA or RNA). This genetic
material helps the virus multiply; it takes over control of the cell, making it
replicate the virus. A cell that has this genetic material inserted into it
cannot function properly and soon dies. When it does it releases new viruses,
which infect new cells, etc.
The range
of access routes for bacteria includes:

Many bacteria are
helpful. Some bacteria help to digest food, destroy disease-causing cells, and
give the body needed vitamins. Bacteria are also used in making healthy foods
like yogurt and cheese. But infectious bacteria can make you ill. They
reproduce quickly in your body. Many give off chemicals called toxins, which
can damage tissue and make you sick. Examples of bacteria that cause infections
include Streptococcus, Staphylococcus,
and coli. Antibiotics are the usual treatment. When you take
antibiotics, follow the directions carefully. Each time you take antibiotics,
you increase the chances that bacteria in your body will learn to resist them.
Later, you could get or spread an infection that those antibiotics cannot cure. Antibiotics may, in fact, upset the balance
by destroying the good bacteria, allowing the other potential
pathogen to multiply faster and cause health problems.
Funguses are usually
very small, and cannot be seen by the eye. Mushrooms and fungi colonies are in fact
a lot of funguses grow together. .
Fungus not only provide us important foods, drugs as antibiotics, but also are
important for degenerating dead plants and animals in the world. Most of Fungus
does not caused disease. However some of them do cause serious diseases.
Diseases caused by fungi are usually on the skin, lung, mouth and vagina tract
that can easily be reached by things in the environment. Fungus grows faster in
humid, shade environment; keep things dry decreasing fungi infection opportunity.

Activated charcoal can
adsorb bacteria, viruses and fungus. Charcoal has been reported to disinfect
wounds and to act as a deodorizer in various bodily ill. Charcoal can be used
for wound dressing. On the body surface, charcoal will adsorb wound secretions,
bacteria, carcinogens, toxins, products of allergies, and will reduce swelling
by taking up excess tissue fluid.

Colostomy
and ileostomy odor:
Colostomy is a surgical
formation of an artificial anus by connecting to an opening in abdominal wall.
An ileostomy is an
opening in the belly (abdominal wall) is used to move waste out of the body
when the colon or rectum is not working properly.
As a fecal deodorant for
patients who have ileostomies or colostomies, doctors have advise uses of activated
charcoal routinely three times daily to reduce odors with good effect.
15.
Inflammation:
.
Inflammation occurs, when chemicals
from the body's white blood cells are released into the blood or affected
tissues to protect your body from foreign substances. This release of chemicals
increases the blood flow to the area of injury or infection, and may result in
redness and warmth. It is part of the
body's immune response and is part of the
healing process. . Inflammation response
is a defense mechanism that evolved in higher organisms to protect them
from infection and injury.
Inflammation,
in any area that is red, painful, swollen, and hot, responds to charcoal. Apply charcoal as a poultice if the inflammation is on the outside of the body, or gives it by mouth if the
inflammation is in the digestive tract.
Cases of cellulitis, cut wounds, nail or thorn pricks that
have been painful, feverish and throbbing, it is no exaggeration to say that
within 5 minutes after putting on a charcoal poultice the patient feels relaxed
and in complete comfort. It is a miraculous thing to witness this reaction.
16.
Anemic
in Cancer:
The anemia experienced in cancer can be treated with charcoal
since this anemia is usually due to the toxins produced by cancer. The toxins
are hemolytic (anemia caused by excessive destruction of red blood cells) and can
be adsorbed by the charcoal administered by mouth. The pain produced by cancer
can be often be controlled by charcoal poultices. Pain in bone, abdomen, and
elsewhere will often respond readily to charcoal poultices.
17.
Pain:
For
abdominal pain use pulverize charcoal on the abdomen as a poultice, laying it
over the entire abdomen and sides. Often great pain can be relieved in a short
while by the use of charcoal poultices on the abdomen. Not only for abdomen
pain but also, for any types of pain. Usually any types of pain can be subsided
by hydrotherapy for example if you have pain around your stomach or liver
region, just start with simple hot and cold fomentation around the pain region
say for 10 to 20 minutes. One day a
middle age man came bending, hardly can stand straight in my clinic, he
complains of retention (unable to pass
urine) of urine with severe pain on lower abdomen past few days. We made him to
lie down and we started with hot water fomentation on the pain area. No, longer
he had the urge to pass urine.
18.
Morning
sickness:
Morning sickness is a pregnancy discomfort that affects more than half of all
pregnant women. Symptoms may be present early in the morning and reduce as
the day progresses. Nausea and vomiting can be one of the first signs of
pregnancy. It usually begins around the 6th week
of pregnancy, peaks around week 9, and disappears by16 to 18
weeks. Related
to increased estrogen levels. Some
women experience constipation during pregnancy. They need to drink enough
water. For this problem mix some charcoal powder in with some sweet vegetable
oil - like olive oil.
In more severe cases,
vomiting may cause dehydration, weight loss, high blood pH, and a low level of potassium in the blood. This condition is known
as hyperemesis
gravidarum and occurs in about 1% of all pregnancies.
In acid vomiting of pregnancy charcoal is a
most effective agent to check the problem.

High Cholesterol:
Cholesterol
is a waxy, fat-like substance that the body needs to function normally.
Cholesterol is naturally present in cell walls or membranes everywhere in the
body, including the brain, nerves, muscles, skin, liver, intestines, and heart,
made in the liver and other cells. It’s
also found in certain foods, such as dairy products, eggs, and meat etc.
The body
uses cholesterol to produce many hormones, vitamin D, and the bile acids that
help to digest fat. It takes only a small amount of cholesterol in the blood to
meet these needs. If a person has too much cholesterol in the bloodstream, the
excess may be deposited in arteries, including the coronary arteries of the
heart, the carotid arteries to the brain, and the arteries that supply blood to
the legs. Cholesterol deposits are a component of the plaques that cause
narrowing and blockage of the arteries, producing signs and symptoms
originating from the particular part of the body that has decreased blood
supply.
Blockage to
the leg arteries causes claudication (pain with walking) due to peripheral
artery disease. Carotid artery blockage may cause stroke, and blockage of the
coronary arteries leads to angina (chest pain) and heart attack. Not only
the cholesterol has given problems to heart and blood vessels, so is so hard or
salt water and chlorinated water give wide range of problem towards our heart
and blood vessel.
High Cholesterol
Causes
People who
have very high triglyceride levels may develop inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), which
can cause sudden, severe abdominal (belly) pain, loss of appetite, nausea and
vomiting, and fever.
High
cholesterol levels are due to a variety of factors including heredity,
Alcohol use, mental stress, excess
weight, intemperance or wrong diet, and lifestyle.
The most common causes of high triglycerides are obesity and poorly controlled diabetes. If you are overweight and are not active, you may have high triglycerides, especially if you eat a lot of carbohydrate or sugary foods or drink a lot of alcohol. Binge (a short period of time when you do too much) drinking of alcohol can cause dangerous spikes in triglyceride levels that can trigger inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis).
As a potential treatment for reducing blood cholesterol, and triglycerides in the blood serum, liver, heart and brain are charcoal with natural diets, and exercise should be done.
20. Hemorrhage

Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding is a
sign that there is a problem in your digestive tract. Your digestive tract
consists of the following organs:

GI bleeding can occur in any
one of these organs. If the bleeding occurs in your esophagus, stomach, or

of bleeding you experience can range from a very small amount of blood to a
life-threatening hemorrhage.
Causes of Upper GI
Bleeding:
Peptic ulcers, which
are open sores that appear in the lining of your esophagus, stomach, and small
intestine, are a common cause of GI bleeding. Enlarged veins in your esophagus
can tear and bleed.
Causes of Lower GI
Bleeding
In the case of lower GI
bleeding, one of the most common causes is colitis. This occurs when your colon
becomes inflamed. This could be caused by an infection, food poisoning,
parasites, Crohn’s disease, and reduced blood flow in the colon. Internal hemorrhoids
are another common cause of GI or rectal bleeding. A hemorrhoid is an enlarged
vein in your rectum or anus. These enlarged veins can rupture and bleed,
causing rectal bleeding.
Signs of Gastrointestinal Bleeding
Your stool might become darker, like tar, if the bleeding is coming from the stomach or upper GI tract. You may pass blood from your rectum during bowel movements, which could cause you to see some blood in your toilet or on your toilet tissue. This blood is usually bright red in color. Vomiting blood is another sign that there is bleeding somewhere in your GI tract. If you experience paleness, weakness, or shortness of breath. These could be signs of severe bleeding.
Patients

Pancreatitis:
Pancreatitis simply means inflammation
of the pancreas.
The pancreas is a large gland
behind the stomach and next to the small
intestine. The pancreas does two main things:

It
releases powerful digestive enzymes into the small intestine to aid the
digestion of food
2.
It
releases the hormones insulin and glucagon into the
bloodstream. They control the body's blood sugar
level, a major source of energy, and pancreatitis is an important role in the
cause of diabetes.
In most cases, acute pancreatitis is caused by gallstones or heavy alcohol use. Other causes
include medications, taking
antibiotics, infections, trauma, metabolic
disorders, and surgery. In up to 30% of people with acute
pancreatitis, the cause is unknown.
Symptoms of acute pancreatitis:

Upper abdominal pain that radiates
into the back. It may be aggravated by eating, especially foods high in fat.

should be done followed by large abdominal charcoal poultice and charcoal
tablet or powder internally. This treatment doesn’t work instantly but good follow
up with natural remedies and diets.

Allergies:

are substances that are foreign to the body and can cause an allergic reaction. When an allergic individual comes in contact with an
allergen, the immune system mounts a response through the IgE antibody.
Therefore, people who are prone to allergies are said to be allergic. Examples

Allergies are perplexing condition,
hard to know what is allergic to them. Forget about the causes and should not
be treated with any other ailment other than charcoal. It may be worth
experimenting by giving some activated charcoal orally, externally rubbing
charcoal water on hives or itching areas. It will neutralize the toxins
produced by allergens.

Intestinal Parasites:
Pinworms - Humans are the
only natural host for this parasite. The
infection occurs most frequently in school children between 5 to 10 years of
age. The most common symptom of pinworms is an itchy rectal area.
Symptoms are worse at night when the female worms are most active and crawl out
of the anus to deposit their eggs.
When someone with pinworms scratches their perianal area,
eggs may lodge under their fingernails and be spread to anything he or she
touches. Infested dust, clothing, bedding, or toys can also spread eggs. When
someone else accidentally ingests these eggs, they also become infected.

animals is the main cause of tapeworm infection in people. Although tapeworms
in humans usually cause few symptoms and are easily treated, they can sometimes
cause serious, life-threatening problems.
Six types of tapeworms are known to infect people. They are
usually identified by the animals they come from -- for example Taeniasaginata from
beef, Taeniasolium from pork, and Diphyllobothriumlatum from fish.Infection can
occur when you eat raw or undercooked meat from an infected animal.

Varicose vein: Varicose veins
are caused by thinning of the walls of the veins due to an increase in the
pressure on the blood inside the veins. They may cause pain, especially at the
time of the menstrual period or on long standing.
Veins are
blood vessels that return deoxygenated blood from the outer parts of the body
back to the heart and lungs. The veins have one-way valves that allow blood
through, but not back, so that the blood travels in only one direction. If the
walls of the vein become
stretched and less flexible (elastic), the valves may get weaker. Weakness of valves in the veins may cause poor venous circulation
(blood flow in the veins), and causing the volume of blood in the veins to
increase, thus leading to varicose veins.
A family history of varicose veins and older
age increase one's tendency to develop varicose other risk factors include:

prolonged standing, and
# pregnancy.
In the majority of cases, there is no
pain. Signs may include:

twisted, swollen and lumpy (bulging);

Things to be done:
a. 15 minutes brisk walk 4 times a day helps on the activities
of the veins ,which helps them for better transporting the blood to the heart.
b. Avoid constipation. We
need to have proper stool. Hard stool increases pressure in the venous system
of lower limbs and long term affects the development of varicose veins so, have enough fiber in the
diet. Straining to pass a bowel movement will markedly elevate intra abdominal
pressure, causing or aggravating varicose veins,
c. Do not use knee-socks, stockings or anything else which
tighten the legs leaving distinct traces on the skin and it reduces your normal
blood circulation in the legs.
d. Clothing: Keep the extremities warm at all times to keep the
tissues healthy. Do not wear constricting bands around the legs.
e. Do not hinder the natural
flow of blood (eg. long sitting motionless with curved knees). Every hour, get
up, for 4-7 minutes you can do some exercises for your legs, and take a walk.
Walking barefoot improves blood flow and also helps for exercising the leg
muscles.

Do not allow the chair seat to press against the back of the
thighs, as this increases the pressure of the blood in the veins.
Do not cross legs.
g. Relaxation with your feet
in a raised position facilitates the return of blood to the heart. If the
varicose veins are acutely painful, lie down and put your legs in a position
that they are 15 cm above heart level. Then apply a warm poultice to the legs.
h. Light massage (only with
your fingers) from the ankle to the thigh, and towards the heart to help
stimulate the blood flow.

Avoid overeating or over drinking.
Avoid overweight in the abdomen.

Do not allow any bands or belts across the abdomen that is
tight enough to leave even a faint mark.
k. Reducing one's salt intake
and maintaining a proper protein level in the blood.

Unconscious:
Unconsciousness
is when a person is unable to respond to people and activities. Often, this is
called a coma. Especially, it may
be a really serious problem when a child loses consciousness. In effect, an
unconscious condition is an indication of the fact that the brain is not
receiving sufficient supply of oxygen.Fainting occurs owing to a temporary disturbance of flow of blood to the brain. This condition may be caused due to hunger or pain or also overpowering poignant (emotional) situations. As
mentioned earlier, fainting is a short-lived condition and even a child who has
fainted will recover voluntarily.
Causes
Unconsciousness can be caused by nearly any
major illness or injury, as well as substance abuse and alcohol use. Brief unconsciousness
(or fainting) is often caused by
dehydration, low blood sugar, or temporary low
blood pressure. However, it can also be caused by serious heart or nervous
system problems.
Symptoms:
Amnesia (loss of memory) of for events prior
to, during, and even after the period of unconsciousness
- Confusion
- Drowsiness
- Headache
- Inability
to speak or move parts of his or her body (see stroke symptoms)
- Lightheadedness
- Loss
of bowel or bladder control (incontinence)
- Rapid
heartbeat (palpitations)
- Stupor (profound confusion and weakness)
Giving charcoal orally is not
recommended if the patient is unconscious. Charcoal poultice to the abdomen may
be done. Insertion of charcoal tab inside anus can be done.

Check
the person's airway, breathing, and pulse frequently. If necessary, begin
rescue breathing and CPR.
2.
If
the person is breathing and lying on the back, and you do not think there is a spinal injury, carefully roll the
person toward you onto the side. Bend the top leg so both hip and knee are at
right angles. Gently tilt the head back to keep the airway open. If breathing
or pulse stops at any time, roll the person on to his back and begin CPR.
3.
If
you think there is a spinal injury, leave the person where you found them (as
long as breathing continues). If the person vomits, roll the entire body at one
time to the side. Support the neck and back to keep the head and body in the
same position while you roll.
4.
Keep
the person warm until medical help arrives.
5.
If
you see a person fainting, try to prevent a fall. Lay the person flat on the
floor and raise the feet about 12 inches.
6.
If
fainting is likely due to low blood sugar, give the person
something sweet to eat or drink when they become conscious.
DO NOT
- Do
NOT give an unconscious person any food or drink.
- Do
NOT leave the person alone.
- Do
NOT place a pillow under the head of an unconscious person.
- Do
NOT slap an unconscious person's face or splash water on the face to try
to revive him.
#CPR stands for cardiopulmonary
resuscitation. It is an emergency lifesaving procedure that is done when
someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped. This may happen after an electric shock, heart attack, or
drowning.
CPR combines rescue breathing and chest
compressions.
- Rescue
breathing provides oxygen to the person's lungs.
- Chest
compressions keep oxygen-rich blood flowing until the heartbeat and
breathing can be restored.
Permanent brain damage or death can occur
within minutes if blood flow stops. Therefore, it is very important that blood
flow and breathing be continued until trained medical help arrives.
1.
Perform chest
compressions:

Place the heel of one hand on the
breastbone -- right between the nipples.
·
Place the heel of your other hand on
top of the first hand.
·
Position your body directly over
your hands.
·
Give 30 chest compressions. These
compressions should be fast and hard. Press down about 2 inches into the
chest. Each time, let the chest rise completely. Count the 30 compressions
quickly:
"1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,
off."

Open the
airway. Lift up the chin with two
fingers. At the same time, tilt the head by pushing down on the forehead with
the other hand.
3.
Look, listen,
and feel for breathing. Place
your ear close to the person's mouth and nose. Watch for chest movement. Feel
for breath on your cheek.
4.
If the person
is not breathing or has trouble breathing:
·
Cover their mouth tightly with your
mouth.
·
Pinch the nose closed.
·
Keep the chin lifted and head
tilted.
·
Give 2 rescue breaths. Each
breath should take about a second and make the chest rise.
5.
Continue CPR (30 chest compressions
followed by 2 breaths, then repeat) until the person recovers or help arrives.

Gangrene
Gangrene is a condition that
occurs when body tissue dies. It is caused by a loss of blood supply due to an
underlying illness, injury, and/or infection. Fingers, toes, and limbs are most
often affected, but gangrene can also occur inside the body, damaging organs
and muscles.
Blood vessels plays a very important
role in your health. Not only does it transport oxygen and nutrients throughout your body to feed cells, it
delivers disease-fighting antibodies that protect your body from infection.
When blood cannot travel freely throughout the body, your cells cannot survive,
infection can develop, and tissue can die from gangrene.
Any condition that affects blood flow increases your risk of
gangrene, including:

Diabetes.

Atherosclerosis.

Peripheral arterial disease.

Smoking.
·
Trauma or serious injury.

Tetanus:
The
bacteria that cause tetanus,
Clostridium tetani, are found in soil, dust and animal feces. When they enter a
deep flesh wound, spores of the bacteria may produce a powerful toxintetanospasmin,
which actively impairs your motor neurons, nerves that control your muscles.
HOW IS TETANUS SPREAD?
Tetanus
is not transmitted from person to person. A person usually becomes infected
with tetanus when dirt enters a wound or cut. Tetanus germs are likely to grow
in deep puncture wounds caused by dirty nails, knives, tools, wood splinters,
and animal bites. Women face an additional risk of infection if a contaminated
tool is used during childbirth or during an abortion.
A
newborn baby may become infected if the knife, razor, or other instrument used
to cut its umbilical cord is dirty, if dirty material is used to dress the
cord, or if the hands of the person delivering the baby are not clean.
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF
TETANUS?
The
time between getting the infection and showing symptoms is usually between
three to 10 days. But it may be as long as three weeks. Shorter the incubation
period, the higher the risk of death.
In children and adults muscular stiffness in the jaw is a common first sign of tetanus. This symptom is followed by stiffness in the neck, difficulty swallowing, and stiffness in the stomach muscles, muscle spasms, sweating, and fever. Newborn babies with tetanus are normal at birth, but stop sucking between three and 28 days after birth. They stop feeding and their bodies become stiff while severe muscle contractions and spasms occur.
The patient suffering from convulsions,
stiffness and unconscious, placing inside the bathtub of warm water with a
large amount of charcoal powder mixed in it. Within half an hour the patient
will regain consciousness. This treatment should be done whenever it starts
again. The seizure will recover without any complications.

Urinary Tract Infection:
Urinary tract infections
typically occur when bacteria (E. coli, a type of bacteria commonly found in
the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.), enter
the urinary tract through the urethra and begin to multiply in the bladder.
UTIs are a
key reason we're often told to wipe from front to back after using the
bathroom. That's because the urethra -- the tube that transports urine from the bladder to the outside of the
body -- is located close to the anus.
Bacteria from the large intestine, such as E.
coli, are in the perfect position to escape the anus and invade the urethra.
From there, they can travel up to the bladder, and if the infection
isn't treated, continue on to infect the kidneys. Women may be
especially prone to UTIs because they have shorter urethras, which allow
bacteria quick access to the bladder. Having sex can introduce bacteria
into the urinary tract, too.
To identify an UTI, keep an eye out for the following
symptoms:

burning feeling when you urinate

A
frequent or intense urge to urinate, even though little comes out when you do
·
Pain
or pressure in your back or lower abdomen
·
Cloudy,
dark, bloody, or strange-smelling urine
·
Feeling
tired or shaky
· Fever or chills (a sign the infection may have reached your kidneys)
When
you develop severe burning upon or during urination, frequent and urgency
urination, bed wetting. Don’t go for any treatment, but just take charcoal in

29. Typhoid:
Typhoid fever is caused by Salmonella
typhi. It is transmitted through the ingestion of food or drink
contaminated by the faeces or urine of infected people.
Symptoms usually develop 1–3 weeks after exposure, and may be
mild or severe. They include high fever, malaise, headache, constipation or
diarrhea, rose-colored spots on the chest, and enlarged spleen and liver.
It

30. Kidney Failure:
Function of the kidneys is

RH Factor:ABO
incompatibility is a common and generally mild type of haemolytic disease in
babies. The term haemolytic disease means that red blood cells are broken down
more quickly than usual which can cause jaundice, anaemia and in very severe
cases can cause death. During pregnancy, this breakdown of red blood cells in
the baby may occur if the mother and baby’s blood types are incompatible and if
these different blood types come into direct contact with each other and
antibodies are formed.
Significant problems with ABO
incompatibility occur mostly with babies whose mothers have O blood type and
where the baby is either A or B blood type. Premature babies are much more
likely to experience severe problems from ABO incompatibility, while healthy
full term babies are generally only mildly affected. Unlike hemolytic
disease that can result in subsequent babies when a mother has a negative blood
group, ABO incompatibility can occur in first-born babies and does not become
more severe in further pregnancies.
In this case mother, administration
of charcoal as much as she could get the baby accept. With the baby undressed
in her lap, she sat in the sunlight giving over an hour of exposure to both
front and back (babies can tolerate more sunlight before getting a sunburn than
can adults). After a week the baby’s bilirubin drops down. By this you can
avoid the hazardous exchange blood transfusion.
32. Gout:
Gout is a kind of arthritis. Gout is characterized by sudden, severe attacks of
pain, redness and tenderness in joints, often the joint at the base of the big
toe.Unless gout is treated. Over time, they can harm
your joints, tendons, and other tissues. Gout is
caused by too much uric acid in the blood. But when uric acid levels in your
blood are too high, the uric acid may form hard crystals in your joints.Your
chances of getting gout are higher if you are overweight,
drink too much alcohol, or eat too much meat and fish that are high in
chemicals called purines.
The most common sign of gout is a nighttime attack of
swelling, tenderness, redness, and sharp pain in your big toe . You can also get gout
attacks in your foot, ankle, or knees, or
other joints.
Charcoal and flaxseed poultice on
the affected area works out well and with internal ingestion. Diet also plays a
major role in this problem. Avoid protein which derives from animal.

33. Ingrown toes nail:
Is a painful condition of the toe. It occurs when a sharp
corner of the toenail digs into the skin at the end of or side of the toe. This condition has been found only in
shoe-wearing cultures and does not occur in habitually barefoot people since it
requires downward pressure on the nail by a shoe.
Symptoms of an ingrown nail include pain along the margins of
the toes unbearable of pain when wearing tight footwear, and sensitivity to pressure
of any kind, even the weight of bed sheets. Signs of infection include redness
and swelling of the area around the nail, drainage of pus,
and watery discharge tinged with blood.
Make charcoal and flaxseed paste and
applied around the ingrown toes nail, wrap it with a plastic overnight. The
next morning your toes will look happier than it has in years. The redness
disappeared and somehow the ingrown toenail seems to have loosened up.
34. Detoxifier:

are jarred—during a bumpy car ride, for instance) nausea, vomiting,
and decreased appetite, (if you have a couple days where your
appetite is low with some mild nausea and vomiting),low-grade fever( but if you have a
103-degree fever and your stomach pain is severe enough that you can't stand up
straight, it may be appendicitis), chills, shaking, and constipation or diarrhea
(If you have been vomiting for more than 12 hours, or have had diarrhea or constipation
for more than a couple days. If you have bloated stomach for more than a couple
days, have a lot of gas accompanied by bowel pain, or have trouble passing gas.

Earache:

earache is a sharp, dull, or burning pain in one or both ears. The pain
may last a short time or be ongoing.
Common reasons for earache include:

of the ear canal outside the eardrum (otitis externa)

A
boil or infected hair follicle in the ear canal

in the ear from plugs of earwax or objects pushed in

Trigeminal neuralgia or facial nerve pain
The symptoms of an ear infection may include:
- Ear
pain
- Fever
- Fussiness
- Increased
crying

Charcoal poultice on the affected ear should
be done and left for several hours or overnight. Otitis media or otitis externa can also be treated by
a charcoal poultice molded over the exterior of the ear. A heat lamp or warm

inside of the ear wet. Don't use eardrops or olive oil if the eardrum has

37. Anemia:

condition in which you don't have enough healthy red blood cells to carry
adequate oxygen to your tissues. Having anemia may make you feel tired and
weak.Others may feel easily fatigued, appear pale, a feeling of
heart racing, and short of breath.
There are many cause of anemia, which are divided into three

Anemia Caused by Blood Loss
Blood
loss through
bleeding, which can occur slowly over a long period of time, and can often go

conditions such as ulcers, hemorrhoids, gastritis, and cancer
Excess Menstruation bleeding and childbirth in women.
*Anemia caused by decreased or faulty red blood cell production:
Your
body needs folate and vitamin B-12 to produce sufficient numbers of healthy red
blood cells. A diet lacking in these and other key nutrients can cause
decreased red blood cell production.Additionally, some people may eat enough
B-12, but their bodies aren't able to process the vitamin. This can lead to
