48. OVER ACTIVE THYROID GLAND

Externally: Rub Ice cub round the thyroid for few seconds 

Application: Apply 2-3 drops of povidone Iodine solution on the forearm 

Message: massage 5-6 drops of Cold pressed walnut oil on the thyroid gland every night for 2-3 minutes

Decoction: Half crushed coriander in mortar and pestle - soaked overnight - boiled and simmer for 10 minutes, filter and drink half an hour before breakfast in empty stomach

47. HYPOTHYROID / UNDERACTIVE THYROID

Poultice: Olive oil + cayenne pepper over the thyroid area

Exercise: Intense exercise can trigger thyroid gland

Application: Apply 2-3 drops of povidone Iodine solution forearm 

Message: massage 5-6 drops of Cold pressed walnut oil on the thyroid gland every night for 2-3 minutes

Decoction: Half crushed coriander in mortar and pestle - soaked overnight - boiled and simmer for 10 minutes, filter and drink half an hour before breakfast in empty stomach

Note: Avoid poultice at night it might prevent you from sleep

46. DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS (DVT)

Hydrotherapy: Hot foot bath

Decoction: Ginger, spreading hogweed. cinnamon

NOTE: Deep vein thrombosis is a blood clot in a vein located deep within your body, usually in your leg, can cause leg pain or swelling. Risk factors: Being sedentary due to bed rest or sitting too long without moving, such as during travel. Family history of blood clots.

45. ALCOHOL INTOXICATION:

Internal: Drink 1,5 liters of sugarcane juice at one go and induce vomiting with the help of fingers

Charcoal internally should be given

Hydrotherapy- Russian steam bath

Note: While activated charcoal does not adsorb alcohol, it does help quickly remove other toxins from the body that contribute to poisoning.

Signs and Symptoms of an Alcohol Overdose

  • Mental confusion, stupor.
  • Difficulty remaining conscious, or inability to wake up.
  • Vomiting.
  • Seizures.
  • Slow breathing (fewer than 8 breaths per minute)
  • Irregular breathing (10 seconds or more between breaths)
  • Slow heart rate.
  • Clammy skin

44. ANAPHYLAXIS

Internally (for purgative effect): Castor oil- 20 to 40 ml as per severity with warm water to easily eliminate toxins and prevent allergic reactions.  

Ingestions: Charcoal 

Application: Charcoal paste in and around the sting area (esp. for wasp & bee sting)

Poultice: Charcoal poultice around the stomach area

Note: Pursed lip breathing is a breathing exercise. It helps slow your breathing and reduce stress. You breathe in through your nose and out through pursed lips. Pursed lip breathing works by moving oxygen into your lungs and carbon dioxide out of your lungs. This technique helps to keep airways open longer so that you can remove the air that is trapped in your lungs by slowing down your breathing rate and relieving shortness of breath.

Instant Emesis  Instant emesis is a technique used to expel unwanted material from the body. Method: 

Drink 1-1.5 litres of lukewarm water with rock salt in one go. After drinking, bend forward, Insert two fingers into the mouth and stimulate the throat, water will expel instantly, along with toxins from the body.

Mild case: charcoal  intake

Note: For unconscious person follow poultice, with insertion of charcoal into anus, treat symptomatically

28. BROKEN BONE

Posture: Sling/Splint (to restrict movement of the fractured part)

Application: Veld grape, Comfrey ointment

20. EPILEPSY

Posture: Right lateral decubitus, 

Instillation: 2 drops of Basil leaves juice inside the nose,  instill raw onion juice

Hydrotherapy: Hot and cold compression on the base of the brain, hot foot bath

19. SEVERE COLD AND COUGH

Hydrotherapy: Hot & cold fomentation on chest, warp wet cloth around the neck, Hot foot bath

Decoction: Ginger, garlic, carom, clove, black pepper, turmeric sweeten with jaggery / honey add pinch of rock salt

Decoction: Giloy + neem leaves + ajwian

Intake: Sip warm water often

Neem- avoid during pregnancy and during lactation


18. HEAT STROKE

Posture: Tilt Head upward at 5°

Application: Cold wet cloth on forehead

Internally: Boiled Green mango juice with/without, lemon water, coconut water, 20 ml onion juice 

17. HEADACHE

Hydrotherapy: Hot foot bath

Application: Aloe vera gel / Sandalwood paste on the forehead 

Decoction: Ginger tea

Internally: Charcoal, drink more water, lemon water with or without salt / honey

Exercise: Alternate Nostril breathing with the support of your fingers

Note: Place wet cloth on the forehead before Hydrotherapy.  During hydrotherapy massage leg and head with few deep breathing, Avoid salt in High BP patient, and honey in Diabetes patient

16. ABDOMEN PAIN

Hydrotherapy: Hot / cold wet cloth compression around the pain abdomen / Hot water immersion / hot water bag

Application: Camphor oil around the navel region with mild massage

Decoction: Ginger, mint, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, Fennel seeds, Carom seeds, add little black salt. Sip warm decoction slowly for its beneficial effects.

15. LOOSE MOTION

Hydrotherapy: Wrap wet cloth around the abdomen

Consume: Charcoal after every stool

Decoction: Guava leaves / Cinnamon, cumin seed, fennel

Internally: Coconut water / ORS  (oral rehydration solution)   

Note: Boil above ingredients 1.5 gm each in 200 ml water till it Reduces to 50 ml. Sip Warm

Home made ORS - 8 tsp of sugar,1 tsp of salt added to 1 liter of water

14. ITCHING

Hydrotherapy: Hot water body immersion

Application: Cold press coconut oil, Alum, Aloe vera gel, Charcoal (for Tilaikhumbi)

Note: Hot water immersion at 40° for 1 hr or till comfortable

Application repeat every 1 hour. Tilaikhumbi - type of hairy insect in Manipur 


Decoction: Boil Neem leaves 1.5 gm, in 200 ml water till it reduces to 50 ml and sip Warm

13. HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Hydrotherapy: Hot foot bath 

Internally: place 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper under the tongue

Chew wood apple leaves 3-5 with black pepper

                  Alternately drink ½ cup lauki (bottle gourd) juice

                   Chew raw garlic

Note: Place wet cloth on the forehead during the hydrotherapy. HFB for at least 30 minutes maintain temperature at 42°C

12. LOW BLOOD PRESSURE

Internally: Lemon juice sweeten with jaggery/honey and salt to taste in a glass of water

Posture: Tilt head downward at 5°

Consume: Raisin, Basil leaves, coffee

Inhale: Rosemary oil

Note: Rub a few drops of rosemary oil on your palm and inhale it. Chew 4-5 tulsi leaves. Posture can be done for 2 hours, if discomfort discontinue it.

11. TOOTH ACHE

Application: Charcoal, clove oil, Garlic paste, salt

Gargle: 4 cloves boil in 1 glass water add 1 pinch of alum, gargle every 1 hour for 3-4 hours

10.   EAR  ACHE

Application: Warm raw onion juice, Placing a peeled garlic cloves on the ear

Poultice: Charcoal poultice over the ache ear and cover it with warm heat

9. SPO2 (oxygen saturation) < 85, BREATHLESSNESS                                            

Posture: Prone

Inhale: Camphor (Kapoor)

Decoction: Ginger, Garlic, Holy Basil, Turmeric, cinnamon, Clove, carom seed, black pepper.

Note: Patients who cannot stand should be seated. If the patient is too weak to sit (avoid leaning backward), he should lie down on his stomach with their face turned to one side. Placing a fan near his mouth can aid in improving his breathing in this position. Avoid leaning backward

8. HIGH TEMPERATURE

Hydrotherapy: Hot foot bath @45'C for 30 minutes (Place wet clothe on the forehead.

Decoction: Night Jasmine leaves, Chirata / Andrographis,

Fenugreek + ajwain + Back Jeera

Application: Charcoal poultice around the stomach region, Sponging the body wet clothe every now and then, always place wet cloth over the forehead.

7. INSECT BITE

Hydrotherapy: Water Immersion @ 50'C

Application: Charcoal paste/ rub tulsi leaves with salt/turmeric powder with lemon juice

6. CUT/BLEEDING

Posture: Anti gravity position

Application: Alum/dressing with aloe Vera and turmeric

Application- Run cold water for 15-20 minutes, Apply aloe vera gel, graded raw potato paste

Cardiac arrest, often described as a temporary death, is a critical medical emergency.

How to assess if a person is alive or dead:
1. Check for Motionlessness: The person should be still and unresponsive. 
2. Assess Breathing: Place your palms on the chest to feel movement and place a finger under the nose to detect breathing. 
3. Check for Pulse: Use your other hand to feel for a pulse in the neck region. 

2. HEART ATTACK/ANGINA

Posture Position- Heart Safe Posture (within 30 seconds of experiencing symptoms)

Hydrotherapy: Hot water of immersion both legs at 40-42°C,  Cold water compression on forehead

Consume- Chew Fresh Ginger (conscious) /chilly powder under tongue (unconscious)

Others- Deep breathing with coughing (as though your intestine is coming out)

Statistics reveal that out of every 700 cases of chest pain, one may result in death; 

out of every 100 heart attacks, 10 may be fatal; 

and for every 100 cardiac arrests, more than 90% may lead to death. 

It’s crucial to understand that cardiac arrest is distinct from a heart attack, and not all chest pains indicate a heart attack.

How to Perform Instant expel excess mucus from the lungs few minutes: 
1. Take 1-1.5 litres of lukewarm water. 
2. Mix rock salt into the water. 
3. Drink the entire mixture in one go. 
4. After drinking, bend forward. 
5. Insert two fingers into the mouth and stimulate the back of the throat.
