Cutaneous larva migrans is a hookworm infection transmitted from warm, moist soil or sand to exposed skin. Cutaneous larva migrans is caused by a species of hookworm called Ancylostoma.
ROUND WORM: Most common in children, they bore through the intestinal wall and settle in other organs. Roundworms are the most common intestinal parasite of pets and the most likely to be transmitted to humans. Humans can accidentally ingest infective worm eggs that have been passed through the pet's feces and left in the environment.
