CHARCOAL GEM OF MEDICINE

Charcoal is formed when wood is heated in the absence of air. It has the unique ability to adsorb or remove poisonous gases, drugs, toxic chemicals; infectious bacteria, and viruses, etc. It doesn’t absorb the toxins, however. Instead it works through the chemical process of adsorption. In the body, absorption is the reaction of elements, including nutrients, chemicals and toxins, soaked up and assimilated into the blood stream. Adsorption is the chemical reaction where elements bind to a surface.  Activated charcoal adsorbs most organic and inorganic chemicals that do not belong in the body, but no studies have been able to prove that it adsorb nutrients, as some people are afraid of. It will adsorb any medications however, and, other than in the case of an overdose, activated charcoal needs to be taken two hours before or after any medications.

Charcoal is cleansing and healing for man and nature. Charred toast or burned rice is not a form of charcoal. It is composed of super-heated proteins and fats.
EXPERIENCES OF CHARCOAL BY ELLEN G WHITE:
In 1897, health reformer E. White wrote, “ I expect you laugh at this; but if I could give this remedy some outlandish (very strange or unusual) name that no one knew but myself, it would have greater influence.’’ After all these years of knowing and using “this remedy”, I find that this description of charcoal, better than anything else I could say, sums up the enigma (something that is difficult to understand or explain) of this lusterless all time gem of medicine.

“One of the most beneficial remedies is pulverized charcoal, placed in a bag and use in fomentations. This is the most successful remedy.  I have ordered this in cases where the sick were suffering great pain, and when it has been confided (full trust) to me by the physicians that he thought it was the last before the close of life. Then I suggested the charcoal, and the patient slept, the turning point came, and recovery was the result. The poison of inflammation was overcome, the pain removed, and healing went on rapidly. The most severe inflammation of the eyes will be relieved by poultice of charcoal, put in a bag, and dipped in hot or cold water, as will best suit the case. This works like a charm.” 2 Selected Massages, P. 294

“I will tell you a little about my experience with charcoal as a remedy. For some forms of indigestion, it is more efficacious than drugs. A little olive oil into which some of this powder has been stirred tends to cleanse and heal. I find it is excellent. Pulverized charcoal from eucalyptus wood we have used freely in cases of inflammation... 2 Selected Massages, P. 298

“For several days he has had a painful swelling on the knee, supposed to be from the bite of some poisonous insect. Pulverized charcoal, mixed with flaxseed, was placed upon the swelling, and this poultice gave relief at once. The child had screamed with pain all night, but when this was applied, he slept. Today she has been to see the little one twice. She opened the swelling in two places, and a large amount of yellow matter and blood was discharged freely. The child was relieved of its great suffering. We thank the Lord that we may become intelligent in using the simple things within our reach to alleviate pain, and successfully remove its cause” 2 Selected Massages. P. 299
“To students, when injured with bruised hands, and suffering with inflammation, I have prescribed this simply remedy with perfect success. The poison of the inflammation is overcome, the pain removed and the healing went on rapidly. I expect you to laugh at this, but if I could give this remedy some outlandish name that no one knew but myself it would have greater influence.” S.M Vol I

“A brother was taken sick, with inflammation of the bowels
and bloody dysentery. The man was not a careful health reformer,
but indulged his appetite. We were just preparing to leave Texas,
where we had been laboring for several months, and we had carriages prepared to take away his brother and his family, and several others [23]
who were suffering from malarial fever. My husband and I thought
we would stand this expense rather than have the heads of several
families die and leave their wives and children unprovided for. Two
or three were taken in a large spring wagon on spring mattresses.

“But this man who was suffering from inflammation of the bowels,
sent for me to come to him. My husband and I decided that it
would not do to move him. Fears were entertained that mortification
had set in. Then the thought came to me like a communication from
the Lord, to take pulverized charcoal, put water upon it, and give
this water to the sick man to drink, putting bandages of the charcoal
over the bowels and stomach.

We were about one mile from the city of Dennison, but the sick man’s son went to a blacksmith’s shop, secured the charcoal, and pulverized it, and then used it according to the directions given. The result was that in half an hour there was a change for the better. We had to go on our journey and leave the family behind, but what was  our surprise the following day to see their wagon overtake us. The sick man was lying in a bed in the wagon. The blessing of God had worked with the simple means used.”—Letter 182, 1899

METHODS TO USE:

a       INTERNALLY OR ORALLY:  Charcoal has no toxic effects. We can use as much as needed and as often as it is needed. Carefully stir 1 to 2 tablespoons of charcoal powder into a small amount of water; fill the glass with additional water. The best time to take is between meals. If food is the cause of the ailment, take charcoal whenever it is needed. If charcoal tablet is your choice, you can take 2 to 3 tabs either chew or swallow with water in empty stomach.
EXTERNALLY OR POULTICE: Directions for preparing a charcoal poultice are as follows:
       * Mix the charcoal powder into a little water until the mixture has the consistency of a paste.
       *  Sources like Cornstarch, Atta, and ground flaxseed, slippery elm one of them may be added to the charcoal mixture to keep the poultice from becoming too dry. Mix 1 to 3 tablespoonful of charcoal powder with 1 table spoonful of the any above source by adding little warm water to make a paste. Flax seed has some anti-inflammatory property which makes a right choice with any inflammatory problem.
.      * Spread the charcoal paste on one half of a thin cloth or paper towel. Fold the other half of the cloth or paper towel over the charcoal paste.
      * Place the poultice on top of the affected skin. Cover the entire poultice with a piece of plastic to keep it from drying out..              * Leave the charcoal poultice on the affected area according to their problem.
      * Internal application for ear problem, (avoid if there is rupture or puncture eardrum, instead you can use charcoal poultice) , mix some charcoal powder with fresh olive oil or boiled water, stir it well, strain with a strainer so that no sediment would be there and put 2 drops in the ear.
      * External application can be used in such  conditions like bee or ant stings, snake bites, boils, any inflammatory condition, stye, eyes problems, joint pain, abdomen pain, gum pain, ear pain, sprain, in growth toes nail, warts, cancer or any growth, etc
`
      * CHARCOAL BATH; The charcoal bath is used to treat large areas of the body. It is simple to prepare just add 2 cups of charcoal powder to a tub of water and deep or immerse the affected area.
